OLD FORGE, NY… (September 4, 2026) Old Forge is set to celebrate Labor Day Weekend, September 5–7, 2026, with a full weekend of family fun, including one last chance to make a splash at Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Calypso’s Cove Family Fun Park, the CAP-PY Duck Derby, live entertainment, the CAA Annual Car Raffle, fireworks and more.
Enchanted Forest Water Safari, New York’s largest water theme park, features more than 50 rides and attractions, including 33 heated water rides, classic amusement rides, family entertainment, food, shops, private cabanas and more. Labor Day Weekend marks the final days of Water Safari’s summer season, with regular summer operations ending Monday, September 7. The fun continues this fall when Water Safari reopens for select dates for Autumn Adventure, featuring seasonal Halloween family fun.
Calypso’s Cove Family Fun Park is open Saturday, September 5 from 2-9pm. Guests have the chance to check out the all new Excavator ride experience. The attraction features three real JCB mini excavators brought to Old Forge from Water Safari’s sister park, Diggerland USA. Two excavators offer guests a traditional digging experience, while the third challenges riders to use the excavator’s arm and hook attachment to pick up shapes and carefully place them in matching openings giving them the opportunity to try their hand at a familiar family game with a real-life construction-themed twist. Additional attractions at Calypso’s Cove include go-karts, kiddie go-karts, mini golf, a ropes course with a zipline, an arcade and family-friendly food featuring pizza, boneless wings and more. The CAP-PY Duck Derby is scheduled for Sunday, September 6. Watch as 3,000 rubber ducks sail down the Moose River for a chance to win prizes from local sponsors. Thousands of rubber ducks are released into the Moose River near the covered bridge by the Adirondack Bank parking lot and dam along Route 28 in Old Forge. Visitors can enjoy music, grilled hot dogs, face painting, cornhole and all the excitement surrounding this annual community tradition.
Sunday evening festivities continue at Old Forge Lakefront Park, with live entertainment followed by fireworks sponsored by the Central Adirondack Association. Prior to the fireworks, winners of the CAA Annual Car Raffle will be drawn. The raffle serves as a primary fundraiser for the Central Adirondack Association and helps support CAA-sponsored community events throughout the year.
