Admissions Cashier & Ticket Taker

Admissions team members are usually the first team members that guests come in contact with and will make an initial impression of EFWS. Admissions Team Members should maintain/project a positive attitude & demeanor while assisting guests into the park. Job duties include:

  • Explain prices & promotions
  • Rining in purchases on our POS system
  • Accepting coupons & payment, including processing credit card sales
  • Taking tickets from guests; scanning the barcode & verifying the authenticity of each
  • Handling large sums of money accurately & efficiently
  • May be asked to assist in other departments as needed
  • Assist guests with the purchase of Paul Bunyan Club Cards and Season Passes (taking photos, printing cards)
  • Deal with the sales & daily check in of our Private Cabana Rentals
  • Be familiar with items sold & services offered at The Water Safari Resort
  • Occassional lifting of up to 35lbs

Calypso's Cove Food Service

Calypso’s Cove Food Service team members assist guests with their food, beverage and snack purchases. Team members are responsible for the preparation of quality food products and their attractive presentation in accordance with our guidelines. Team members must be able to accurately run a cash register while consistently delivering exceptional guest service.

  • Maintain and project a positive attitude and professional demeanor

Calypso's Cove Ride / Arcade Attendant

Ride Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the rides at Calypso’s Cove. The primary responsibility is to assist each guest in safely riding each ride. Ride Operator positions involve working outdoors in all weather conditions and a high level of guest interaction. Arcade Attendants will work at our arcade prize redemption center or at our ticket booth. Arcade attendants must be comfortable with cash handling and must be able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining our standard of guest service.

  • Proactively approach guests to play & replay games
  • Follow strict guidelines with regard to safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the rides and surrounding work areas
  • Know and enforce all safety policies, rules and regulations for each ride
  • Assist guests on and off of rides
  • Secure all safety restraints
  • Exert up to 35 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move objects in order to secure safety devices and perform ride operation functions

Costumed Character

Team Members in the Costumed Character department will be our moose mascot, Walter Safari. You will be responsible for properly wearing the costume and walking around to greet and take photographs with guests. There will be two team members scheduled as a costumed character per day; one team member will be in costume, the other team member will be an escort. If you are the escort, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the team member in costume. You will be sure that they are comfortable, hydrated and safe. Both team members will alternate being in & out of costume.

  • Maintain & project a postive attitude & professional demeanor
  • Team Members do not talk while in costume
  • You will be asked to walk around the front area of the park, mainly near the front gate where guests enter
  • Must be comfortable interacting with guests of all ages
  • Must be animated, you will be asked to wave, high five, dance & pose with guests
  • Walter Safari will occasionally make apperances at group outings, in which case you will be transported via golf cart to the pavilion area.

Dry Rides Operator

Amusement Ride Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our amusement rides. Team Members are assigned at a specific ride each day (will vary from day to day). Team Members must remain focused & safety-conscious all day.

Food Service

Food Service team members work in a variety of food stands assisting guests with their food, beverage & snack purchases. Games Attendant

Games team members work in the arcade and midway skill game areas. Games team members are responsible for actively encouraging guests to play games and awarding prizes to winners.

Grounds Crew

Responsible for the overall cleanliness, appearance & maintenance of the entire park (paths, lawns, trash cans, etc.). Also responsible for a variety of odd jobs as they arise, as well as performing valuable guest relations work. Assists with lunch relief and breaks in water & amusement ride areas of the park, therefore must complete a SWAFR course (Shallow Water Rescue Training, CPR & First Aid). This is a physical position, involving continuous walking and working outdoors in all types of weather conditions for the entire shift. Heavy lifting may be required. There is a high exposure to guests in the form of answering questions about EFWS, taking family pictures, and offering assistance whenever necessary. May be asked to assist the other departments, as needed, based on staffing.

Guest Photographer

Safari Snapshots team members proactively approach park guests to offer photo opportunities with the goal of selling the photographs taken. You must be friendly and outgoing when approaching guests and you must act quickly and efficiently as to not miss any photo opportunities.

  • Maintain & project a positive attitude & professional demeanor
  • Walk to specific areas in the park, which requires climbing hills & steps. You must be comfortable being on your feet & walking for long periods of time
  • Work while standing in chlorinated water - depths ranging from 6 inches to 36 inches
  • Work outside in all weather conditions, including extended periods of heat & sun exposure
  • Proactively approach park guests, instruct the guests to a specific location & give instructions to pose the guests to have their photograph taken
  • Operate a digital camera to capture high-quality photographs of guests
  • Affix wristbands on the wrists of guests who had their photo taken
  • Understand & clearly communicate guest instructions, training materials & souvenir pricing

Lifeguards

Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining constant vigilance over swimmers and enforcing rules to prevent accidents and injuries and for the safe and efficient operation of Enchanted Forest Water Safari’s aquatic areas. Lifeguards are regularly exposed to all types of weather conditions & are required to stand for extended periods of time. Lifeguards must maintain the cleanliness of the pools & surrounding work areas. Lifeguards will be required to participate in weekly in-service training sessions to maintain and improve lifeguarding skills. Lifeguards must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and possess good communication skills.

Parking Attendant

The parking lot supervisor oversees the parking attendants and ensures the smooth operation and flow of the parking lot. This individual must possess critical thinking skills in order to maximize the parking space available. Parking lot employees are among the first that guests interact with, therefore excellent guest service is of the utmost importance. 

  • Ensures the optimal use of parking space
  • Provides efficient, friendly service to our guests
  • Oversees the parking lot staff and assigns work stations as appropriate to attendance volume.
  • Communicates effectively with office staff and management regarding parking volume throughout the day.

Shops / Retail

Stores team members work in a variety of specialty shops assisting guests with their gift & souvenir purchases. Team members are responsible for accurately running cash registers, restocking, maintaining a clean and orderly shop and providing our guests with exceptional service. Stores Team Members may also work in our Locker Key Rental locations renting lockers, strollers, VIP tubes, wagons & wheelchairs, as well as maintaining a log of lost & found items.

Water Ride Operator

The primary responsibility is to assist guests of all ages in safely riding each ride. Water Ride Operator positions involve working outdoors in all weather conditions. Water Ride Operators have a high level of guest interaction. Water Ride Operators must be impressed with the serious nature of the job and must be extremely focused and be able to pay attention to detail.

Water's Edge Inn Reservationist - Full Time, Year Round

Scope:

Front Desk team members welcome and assist guests and potential guests. Team members are responsible for answering telephones, making reservations, processing payments and deposits and providing all guests with exceptional guest service.

Essential Duties:

Licensed Security Guard - Summer Season 2018

The primary responsibilities of the security guard are to provide a visual presence and maintain a safe and secure environment at the Old Forge Camping Resort. Additionally, the security guard must exercise good judgment and professional guest service skills, appropriately interact with the public and response agencies, and maintain a professional appearance. Security Guards may also be scheduled to patrol Enchanted Forest Water Safari to ensure that it’s secure overnight. This includes making sure buildings are locked, ensuring there is no suspicious activity occurring and periodically patrolling our on-site employee housing, making sure tenants are compliant with the assigned quiet hours.

  • Performs regular round(s) of entire campground, the protection of persons and/or property from harm, theft, and/or unlawful activity within the limitations of a New York State licensed security guard, referring criminal activity to local and/or state law enforcement agencies as appropriate
  • Physically and visually secure buildings, fences and perimeters, and company property by performing the following duties: ensure gates, entrances and exits are locked, and outbuildings are secure, secure the Main Lodge at closing, put out keys for late arrivals, and direct guests to their sites
  • Ensure the orderly enjoyment of campground facilities through surveillance, guest education, and preventative action
  • Perform courteous guest services by answering campground or general area questions
  • Patrol, both on foot and/or with a company vehicle, to detect and appropriately react to: OFCR policy violations to include: speed limit, quiet hours and beach closing, fire or safety hazards, persons in restricted areas, commission of unlawful acts (in conjunction with local/state law enforcement as appropriate), and unattended coolers/food/drinks at sites or within campground
  • Efficiently and courteously respond to and manage guest complaints and emergency calls and determine best course of action, respond to maintenance calls and handle minor maintenance issues; refer major issues to management
  • Routinely perform bathroom checks to ensure facilities are clean, stocked and working properly, and perform general custodial services as necessary.
  • Respond to wild animal nuisance calls and act to keep guests safe

  • The ability to diffuse situations using verbal communication skills is crucial, to think critically in emergency situations and use good judgement is imperative, and must display excellent decision-making skills
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Prior security guard or law enforcement experience preferred
  • Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team
  • Be flexible in working changing shifts to suit the needs of the business including overnight shifts

EMT - Summer Season 2018

Scope:

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) respond to calls for first aid assistance and provide efficient care when called upon for ill or injured guests and employees. EMT’s are a vital member of the safety team and work hand-in-hand with lifeguards, managers, and manager of the day (MOD). During down times, EMT’s will perform general park duties.

Job Requirements:

  • NYS certified Basic EMT or higher level, current and valid through end of September of current year.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with ambulance service or hospital
  • Current CPR for Health Care Provider certification
  • Knowledge of current NYS protocols
  • Must be able to lift patients
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time

Specific Duties:

  • When two EMTs are on duty the park is to be divided in two parts with Oasis Café as the dividing line, and one EMT will cover the front area and the second EMT will cover the back. EMTs will work individually unless there is a call that requires additional help
  • The 2nd EMT shift covers Calypso’s Cove after EFWS closes (CC is open until 10pm daily)
  • Respond to all medical calls and care for within scope of practice
  • Check with water supervisors to see if any supplies are needed for SWAFRS or Lifeguards
  • Check oxygen tanks and regulators daily
  • Prepare supply orders
  • Check with all area managers/supervisors for any supply needs
  • Check AED and suction machine batteries/function
  • Assist with general housekeeping within the park
  • Provide ice to specified areas for team member waters
  • Observe and report/address any safety concerns
  • Keep code 2 rooms clean and sanitized
  • Fill out incident reports completely & legibly - make copy and give to Zoe any employee injuries or guest who may seek advanced care
  • Request for guest to be transported by ambulance must go through MOD
  • Call for MOD (code 22)  assistance for any serious injury (requiring guest to leave park or seek advanced care)
