Admissions team members are responsible for assisting guests into the park. Team members are responsible for quickly and efficiently selling, verifying and scanning tickets. Providing our guests with exceptional service is of the utmost importance.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain and project a positive attitude and professional demeanor

  • Explaining pricing and promotions
  • Ringing in purchases on our POS system
  • Accepting coupons and payment, including processing credit card sales

Calypso’s Cove Food Service team members assist guests with their food, beverage and snack purchases. Team members are responsible for the preparation of quality food products and their attractive presentation in accordance with our guidelines. Team members must be able to accurately run a cash register while consistently delivering exceptional guest service.

Ride Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the rides at Calypso’s Cove. The primary responsibility is to assist each guest in safely riding each ride. Ride Operator positions involve working outdoors in all weather conditions and a high level of guest interaction. Arcade Attendants will work at our arcade prize redemption center or at our ticket booth. Arcade attendants must be comfortable with cash handling and must be able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining our standard of guest service.

Essential Duties:

  • Follow strict guidelines with regard to safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the rides and surrounding work areas
  • Know and enforce all safety policies, rules and regulations for each ride

Team Members in the costumed character department will be our moose mascot, Walter Safari. You will be responsible for properly wearing the costume and walking around to greet and take photographs with guests. There will be two team members scheduled as a costumed character per day; one team member will be in costume, the other team member will be an escort. If you are the escort, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the team member in costume. You will be sure that they are comfortable, hydrated and safe.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain and project a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • You will not talk while in costume
  • You will be asked to walk around the front area of the park, mainly focusing on the front gate area

Amusement Ride Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our amusement rides. Team Members are assigned at a specific ride each day (will vary from day to day). Team Members must remain focused & safety-conscious all day.

Responsible for the overall cleanliness, appearance & maintenance of the entire park (paths, lawns, trash cans, etc.). Also responsible for a variety of odd jobs as they arise, as well as performing valuable guest relations work. Assists with lunch relief and breaks in water & amusement ride areas of the park, therefore must complete a SWAFR course (Shallow Water Rescue Training, CPR & First Aid). This is a physical position, involving continuous walking and working outdoors in all types of weather conditions for the entire shift. Heavy lifting may be required. There is a high exposure to guests in the form of answering questions about EFWS, taking family pictures, and offering assistance whenever necessary. May be asked to assist the other departments, as needed, based on staffing.

Safari Snapshots team members proactively approach park guests to offer photo opportunities with the goal of selling the photographs taken. You must be friendly and outgoing when approaching guests and you must act quickly and efficiently as to not miss any photo opportunities.

Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining constant vigilance over swimmers and enforcing rules to prevent accidents and injuries and for the safe and efficient operation of Enchanted Forest Water Safari’s aquatic areas. Lifeguards are regularly exposed to all types of weather conditions & are required to stand for extended periods of time. Lifeguards must maintain the cleanliness of the pools & surrounding work areas. Lifeguards will be required to participate in weekly in-service training sessions to maintain and improve lifeguarding skills. Specialty Positions

The primary responsibilities of the security guard are to provide a visual presence and maintain a safe and secure environment at the Old Forge Camping Resort. Additionally, the security guard must exercise good judgment and professional guest service skills, appropriately interact with the public and response agencies, and maintain a professional appearance. Security Guards may also be scheduled to patrol Enchanted Forest Water Safari to ensure that it’s secure overnight. This includes making sure buildings are locked, ensuring there is no suspicious activity occurring and periodically patrolling our on-site employee housing, making sure tenants are compliant with the assigned quiet hours.

  • Performs regular round(s) of entire campground, the protection of persons and/or property from harm, theft, and/or unlawful activity within the limitations of a New York State licensed security guard, referring criminal activity to local and/or state law enforcement agencies as appropriate
  • Physically and visually secure buildings, fences and perimeters, and company property by performing the following duties: ensure gates, entrances and exits are locked, and outbuildings are secure, secure the Main Lodge at closing, put out keys for late arrivals, and direct guests to their sites
  • Ensure the orderly enjoyment of campground facilities through surveillance, guest education, and preventative action
  • Perform courteous guest services by answering campground or general area questions
  • Patrol, both on foot and/or with a company vehicle, to detect and appropriately react to: OFCR policy violations to include: speed limit, quiet hours and beach closing, fire or safety hazards, persons in restricted areas, commission of unlawful acts (in conjunction with local/state law enforcement as appropriate), and unattended coolers/food/drinks at sites or within campground
  • Efficiently and courteously respond to and manage guest complaints and emergency calls and determine best course of action, respond to maintenance calls and handle minor maintenance issues; refer major issues to management
  • Routinely perform bathroom checks to ensure facilities are clean, stocked and working properly, and perform general custodial services as necessary.
  • Respond to wild animal nuisance calls and act to keep guests safe
  • Accurately and efficiently provide clear documentation and written incidence reports as required
  • Patrol Enchanted Forest Water Safari, as assigned, including team member housing
  • Perform other duties, within the scope of certification, as required for the efficient operation of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess current New York State licensure as a security guard or be eligible to obtain NYS security guard licensure prior to hire
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds is required; must be capable of conveying and receiving detailed instructions and important information
  • The ability to diffuse situations using verbal communication skills is crucial, to think critically in emergency situations and use good judgement is imperative, and must display excellent decision-making skills

Scope:

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) respond to calls for first aid assistance and provide efficient care when called upon for ill or injured guests and employees. EMT’s are a vital member of the safety team and work hand-in-hand with lifeguards, managers, and manager of the day (MOD). During down times, EMT’s will perform general park duties.

Job Requirements:

  • NYS certified Basic EMT or higher level, current and valid through end of September of current year.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with ambulance service or hospital
  • Current CPR for Health Care Provider certification
  • Knowledge of current NYS protocols

  • Respond to all medical calls and care for within scope of practice

Scope:

The Assistant Manager supports all aspects of Calypso’s Cove operations including: guest relations, ticket sales, food service, ride operations, arcade and redemption center, maintenance, cleanliness, team building and team member development and training. This position is also responsible for ensuring safety, policy and regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in guest relations by ensuring quality guest service as well as responding to guest issues and complaints.

The Safari Snapshots supervisor is responsible for taking pictures, training and managing the Safari Snapshots store and department team members and maintaining the equipment and supplies.

The shuttle bus driver holding a CDL will drive a 66-passenger shuttle bus doing a continual loop between the Old Forge Camping Resort and Enchanted Forest Water Safari. This is a seasonal position from late June through Labor Day.
