International Students

Come spend the summer with us!

Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Calypso’s Cove, Old Forge Camping Resort and Water’s Edge Inn employ international students as a part of a work and travel cultural exchange program. Students who are interested should first sign up with a participating agency to sponsor their Visa. Please do not fill out an online application.

Requirements:

  • Obtain a J-1 Visa through their sponsoring agency.
  • Students must have an intermediate level of English skills.
  • A work commitment of approximately 12 weeks is required.
  • Students must be available to arrive around ealry June and work through the first Monday in September.
  • Posses a willingness and desire to understand American culture, work hard and make new friends!
  • Follow our employment requirements and standards.

Housing:

Where will I live?

Housing is provided by Enchanted Forest Water Safari so there's no need to worry! We have several shared houses on location that provide you with quick and easy access to work. Our houses are fully furnished and include living rooms, kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, utensils and pots and pans, dining area, shared bedrooms (2-3 students per room), bathrooms and coin operated laundry. Several houses have computers with email/Internet access and local phone service.  All houses have WiFi.

What is the cost of living?

Housing rent is very affordable and is paid on a weekly basis. A security deposit is required upon your arrival and is part of your contract. Since the cost of living in our housing is very affordable, students are able to save a lot of their earnings each summer. Discounts on food and gifts are available at all 4 of our companies. A grocery store, drug store, convenience stores and many restaurants are within walking distance from housing.

Where is Old Forge?

Old Forge, NY is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains on the Fulton Chain of Lakes. It is a quaint little village that is a major tourism destination in both the summer and winter seasons. The population increases during the summer months making Old Forge a prosperous and lively town. Local activities include hiking, biking, white water rafting, swimming, boating, camping and more. Old Forge is home to many unique gift shops and attractions. There is no public transportation in Old Forge.
