OLD FORGE, NY – Adventure awaits in the Adirondacks! Old Forge Camping Resort welcomes Girl Scouts from near and far for the Girl Scouts Spring Fling, happening May 15–17, 2026. This exciting spring getaway is open to all Girl Scout troops and individual Girl Scouts and is the perfect way to jump into a new season of exploration, friendship, and outdoor fun.
The weekend kicks off Friday night with a Meet & Greet pizza party, setting the tone for a fun-filled adventure. Throughout the weekend, scouts will enjoy a mix of hiking, crafts, tie-dying, campfire cooking, s’mores, and more—bringing classic camping memories to life.
Saturday’s activities will feature scouts taking part in an observation walk around Lake Serene to learn map skills and participate in a scavenger hunt. Other activities planned on Saturday are:
- Basic First Aid and Ambulance Tour
- Fire‑building basics
- Lunch and campfire cooking
- Lost‑in‑the‑woods safety
- Smokey Bear program
- Knot‑tying demonstration
- Water fun – Swimming and Paddle boating at Lake Serene**
- Hiking**
- Evening bonfire with S’mores & Swaps
**Water fun or hiking on your own. These two activities are a free time slot for swimming or hiking without supervision.
Along the way, scouts will explore the great outdoors, make new friends, and work toward earning the Outdoor Adventurer Badge.
Sunday’s plans include tie-dying your event T-shirt at Lake Serene.
