Boating:

The Adirondack Region has is filled with lakes & beaches to enjoy during every season. Waterskiing, jet skiing & boating are some summer favorites that both locals & tourists enjoy. If you like to fish, you can enjoy ice fishing in the winter or fly fishing in the spring! Perhaps you’re looking for laid back canoe or kayak ride to take in your beautiful surroundings. Fishing & Hunting

The Adirondack’s is an outdoorsman’s dream with the endless number of outdoor sports & activities that are available.  Old Forge is particularly popular during hunting season – many visitors flock to the area to enjoy the sport.  The Adirondack’s is home to many fresh water fish such as Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Bass and many more. The cold winter months allow plenty of valuable ice fishing time to locals & tourists. Golfing:

Old Forge is home to the Thendara Golf Course – an 18-hole championship course with a backdrop of beautiful Adirondack scenery to enjoy while you’re playing. Hiking:

From beginner to seasoned hiker, Old Forge offers trails to suit every level of hiker. Many mountains throughout the Adirondacks such as our very own Bald Mountain have fire towers at the summit for hikers to walk up & enjoy the panoramic view.  Hike with friends or bring your dog along on the journey. Biking: 

Many of our areas hiking trails double as mountain bike trails for those looking for a real adventure. Skiing, Snowmobiling & Snowshoeing:

During the winter months, Old Forge completely transforms into a winter wonderland. The area is known for high levels of snowfall which creates tons of fresh powder to the liking of snowmobilers, skiers and all other winter enthusiasts. Old Forge is connected to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails, many of them accessible by local hotel & lodging destinations. In addition, we are home to McCauley Mountain – a ski mountain great for every level of skiing competency.  Our hiking trails transform into snowshoeing paths – bring your own snowshoes or rent from a local rental shop.
